Octavo (9 5/16 x 6 3/8 inches; 236 x 160 mm). [4], xiv, [2], 559, [1, blank] pp. Sixteen plates (from photographs selected by Edward Steichen), six double-page color maps (including front and back endpapers), and thirty-eight maps in the text, and double-page color chart of “The Allied Air-Ground Team for the Final Offensive.”

Original light brown buckram over beveled boards. Front cover stamped in black with facsimile signature. Spine stamped in black and lettered in gilt. Top edge gilt, others uncut. Endpapers with a map of Europe. A fine copy. In the original cardboard slipcase, with printed paper label. Slipcase a bit rubbed and slightly sunned. Overall, a near fine copy.
