Beautifully bound by Zaehnsdorf in full green calf. Covers triple-ruled in gilt. Spines decoratively tooled in gilt and with floral devices stamped in black. Each spine with three dark-brown calf spine labels, including a label for the volume number. Labels lettered in gilt. Boards edges ruled in gilt. Gilt dentelles. Marbled endpapers. Spines uniformly sunned. Board edges and joints occasionally lightly rubbed, but overall a very good set.

The Winchester Edition of The Novels of Jane Austen was first published by Grant Richards in 1898. It was reissued by John Grant of Edinburgh in 1905-1906 with new title-pages. Both of these editions contained the novels only. The 1911-1912 reissue, also by John Grant, included two additional volumes containing the minor novels (Lady Susan and The Watsons) and Letters.
