Original fine pen and ink and watercolor from "The Vicar of Wakefield." Matted, framed and glazed. Watercolor measures (8 1/4 x 5 7/8 inches; 210 x 150 mm), but probably larger under the mat. Frame measures (15 x 12 1/2 inches; 385 x 320 mm). Signed 'Arthur Rackham' on lower right corner. In a gilt frame.

Image is of prisoners and the Vicar in the jail. Image is mostly in grey and brown, but a few prisoners have red kerchiefs. A contemporary sticker for art dealer "Arthur Ackermann & Son inc" on the back of the frame. Also a sticker from the Santa Barbara Museum of Art on the back. Overall a very beautiful original painting.
