Limited to 300 copies, signed by the artist Setsuko on limitation page. This being number 190. Folio (16 3/4 x 13 1/4 inches; 426 x 335 mm). With four color woodcut prints by Setsuko. Printed on finely-textured hand-made Japanese mulberry paper. With publisher's prospectus laid in.
Bound in publisher's purple fabric. White printed paper label on front board. "The 'pouch binding'- or Fukuro toji- is the traditional Japanese. Pages are securely 'bound' across an open spine with bookbinding thread, in a pattern which suggests a delicate Japanese screen." (Publisher). Housed in a black fabric clamshell, with printed paper label on front. A fine copy.
Illustrated with four paintings by Setsuko Ideta, wife of Balthus, that were converted into wood blocks by Keiji Shinohara in his California studio.
