Publisher's deluxe olive green limp calf. Front cover double-ruled and pictorially stamped in gilt. Spine elaborately pictorially stamped and lettered in gilt. All edges gilt. Pink pictorial endpapers. Previous owner's ink signature to half-title. Some minor toning to first and last leaves. Gilt on spine very lightly rubbed. Overall a very good copy in an attractive binding.

Shepard, who is, if anything, slightly younger, continues to draw as delightfully as he did when he decorated 'When We Were Very Young.'
