Original blue cloth, title blind-stamped front board, gilt-lettered spine. Gilt still bright. With some very light wear to head and tail of the spine and corners. Some very minor soiling to edges of text block. Small bookseller sticker on rear pastedown. An about fine copy.
"[James Joyce], novelist, born at Rathgar, a suburb of Dublin, and educated at Irish Jesuit colleges. Dissatisfied with the intellectual atmosphere of Dublin, he left Ireland in 1902 and spent most of the remainder of his life abroad, chiefly in Trieste, Zürich, and Paris, contending for many years with poverty, suffering latterly from severe eye trouble, and struggling to obtain the publication of his works."
